Restarting (reboot) the Wi-Fi router can resolve most connectivity issues. Check that your 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi network is functioning normally and that the internet is available. Check that the Wi-Fi network speed is not being reduced by streaming movies and games, or other high bandwidth activities.

Does Mini require a Sync module to work? No, Mini just requires 5 volt, 1amp, standard USB power through the included adapter, and an always-on Wi-Fi internet connection. Mini does not need a sync module. However, the Mini can be added to an existing system for shared scheduling.

The Sync Module manages communications between your Blink devices and our secure servers; therefore your camera needs to connect to its local Wi-Fi. The Blink Mini, Video Doorbell, and Wired Floodlight do not require Sync Modules for those communications, which is why they broadcast their own local Wi-Fi connections.

You can't use it to record live view, but all motion-triggered alerts will be saved locally and can be accessed at any time through the Blink app. If you don't have the Sync Module 2, then you'll either have to rely on only getting notifications and having live view, or subscribe to one of the Blink plans.

Sign out of the Blink app, then sign back in. This may reset some of your app settings. After you sign in, go back to Step 1 to make sure the Blink system is armed and your camera has Motion Detection set to on.

As a first step, power cycle the Wi-Fi router to see if signal strength improves after you tap Pull to Refresh in the Blink app as shown above. If that does not improve signal strength, move the camera closer to the Wi-Fi router and tap Pull to Refresh again.

Assuming standard construction techniques (single building, no unusually dense construction materials) the Sync Module should be able to communicate with Blink cameras up to (and perhaps over) 100' away in any direction. We also recommend keeping the Sync Module near your wireless router for best signal strength.

If your Blink camera is not connecting to WiFi, check the internet connection and make sure the sync module is as close to the router and Blink camera as possible. How do you reset a Blink Mini camera? ›

Note: Press the reset button while the Mini is plugged in. We recommend using either a paperclip or small screwdriver (not safety pins or thumbtacks) to reset the camera. When a Mini displays a solid red light, a long press of the reset button (more than 5 seconds) will reset the camera and enter setup mode.

From the Home screen, tap the + icon to add a device. On the Add Device screen, tap Sync Module. Scan the QR code on the back of the Sync Module or enter your Sync Module's serial number manually. Note: The Blink app may ask permission to access the camera on your mobile device in order to scan the QR code.

Without a Blink Subscription, or existing cloud storage, certain Blink cameras receive Motion Notifications in the Blink app. Simply tap the notification to enter the camera's Live View. No clips are saved, but you have two-way audio and video from the camera through the Blink app.

Battery powered cameras require a connection to a Sync Module and Wi-Fi. Blink Outdoor and Indoor (3rd Gen) cameras will attempt to record the first motion event after a power loss and upload that clip to the cloud once the system is back online. The offline or power-out recording feature is not reliable, however.

If you notice you're still experiencing low signal strength from your cameras, try power cycling your Sync Module by removing it from power for 30 seconds then plugging it back in. Once both lights have stopped flashing and appear solid again, try using the cameras and checking their signal strength.

Conveniently control all of your Blink devices right from the Blink Home Monitor app with the Blink Sync Module 2. The Sync Module 2 connects up to 10 of any Blink Indoor, Blink Outdoor, XT2, XT, Video Doorbell and Blink Mini devices (not required for Mini).

However, if you want to add more than ten cameras, or add cameras to a different location, you'll need to add another Sync Module to create a system for each group of cameras. Using the Blink app, you can manage multiple Sync Modules and their connected Blink devices all from a single account.

You can use Blink when you are out of the country. We can't guarantee a connection from any particular country or internet connection due to firewalls and open ports, but the system is designed to be used when away from home. Wi-Fi will need to remain on in the home for the system to run.

How do I reset the Wi-Fi on my Blink camera? ›

From the the Camera Settings screen, select General Settings and tap Change Wi-Fi. In the Change Wi-Fi screen, follow the instruction to "Press and release the reset button on the camera until red and blue lights flash. When ready, the lights will display: Blinking Blue, Steady Green."

How much data does a single clip use? A five-second motion clip with audio when quality is set to Best will use up to 750KB of data. This is important to note if you are accessing clips via a cellular network, rather than a WiFi connection.

We recommend positioning your Sync Module in a "Man-in-the-Middle" style location, where it can receive a good signal from your Wi-Fi router but also have visibility to your cameras. Putting a Sync Module in a hidden area can also reduce its visibility and cause it to suffer from interference.

Adding a Sync Module allows you to group and manage up to 10 cameras in one system. However, if you want to add more than ten cameras, or add cameras to a different location, you'll need to add another Sync Module to create a system for each group of cameras.
